I have a feeling that the only thing I'll remember from this election is the phrase 'five more years of smirking'. This phrase was delivered by a man who has a permanent smirk so pronounced that one might be forgiven for thinking that he has a congenitally defective face.
Interesting things roundup:
- Bethnal Green & Bow: George Galloway won. I feel sorry for the strongly anti-war people, they have no sane representation. (Yes, the Lib Dems are vaguely anti-war, rather than strongly anti-war). There were only a few percents in it.
- Wyre Forest: The Kidderminster Hospital bloke got in again too. He turned out to be quite a good constituency MP, so people voted for him again. There was a large swing back to the other parties; not surprising since it was just a one-off protest the first time.
- Blaenau Gwent: Peter Law, the former Labour MP (now independent) was elected decisively. Labour lost their safest seat in Wales.
- Brighton Pavilion: In a Labour hold, the Greens polled 22% to come in second, just a whisker behind the second place Tories.
